Like manyothers, I’ve waiting for an amazing Harry Potter game since I was in the third grade. Since then we’ve seen some decent LEGO Potter games, an extremely disappointing EA Sports Quidditch game for various reasons, and was a victim of the demon called Harry Potter Kinect. However, none of them has achieved the anticipation of receiving that Hogwarts admissions letter that opens the door to a hidden world. It’s the same with Hogwarts Legacy I’m glad to report that we’ve finally have a Harry Potter game that captures some of that magic. Its open world map recreates the feel from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry The game features incredible spellcasting and combat and the characters within the world are adorable and memorable and the game is loaded with lots of fun activities to take in a multitude of an hour of. It might not be the most remarkable technical accomplishment and certainly is plagued with a lack of enemy variety, but none Hogwarts Legacy’s issues will cast an unforgettable Descendo ambiance on this enthralling trip to the Wizarding World.
Just like the other Harry Potter tales before it Legacy’s plot is filled with more holes than a fishnet stocking and basically demands you to be able to accept that this amazing world isn’t real. The intriguing third-person action RPG begins with you transferring to Hogwarts as five-year-old wizard or witch (for mysterious reasons) and you’ll be attending classes to fighting giant spiders using a magic stick, or flying around on an hippogriff. The amazing character creator gives you many choices for you to create your perfect witch or wizard (apart of a very limited voice selection) in the same way, and octordle as soon when you’re done, you’ll be caught up in a battle among wizards from the Wizarding World and a sly goblin. Furthermore due to the fact that being in an underground wizard’s society doesn’t seem exciting enough You soon find out that you’ve got a plethora of super-charged magical powers that permit the player to do amazing stuff that also isn’t really explained.
If you’re anything like me, you’ll be squirming during moments when you’re introduced to 100 years of dead characters who lecture you from paintings on the importance of some stuff that happened some time ago and how you have to save the world or some other thing. But once that’s over with Legacy mostly redeems itself with a fantastic cast of non-painting characters that help boil things down into a not-too-convoluted good-guys-versus-bad-guys conflict that ends up being an enjoyable tale, even if it’s not particularly profound or original.
The characters you’ll spend most all your time in are the friends who will accompany you on campus, accompany you on various quests as well as help you improve your skills as a magician user. Many are memorable and immediately appealing, such as Sebastian the bold and morally pliable Slytherin, or Natsai the clever and unflappable Gryffindor, and spending time with them and strengthening your social connections with them through their relationship quests has made my time at Hogwarts much more enjoyable.
It’s a great game in every way. Hogwarts Legacy is the Harry Potter RPG I’ve had a long-time dream of trying. Its open-world adventure brings to life the excitement and magic in that Wizarding World with its memorable new characters with a challenging and sophisticated combat and an incredibly executed Hogwarts student adventure that kept me attached to my gaming console for dozens of hours. It’s certainly weighed down by technical problems, a mediocre main story, and weak enemy types, but even these issues couldn’t come close to breaking the spell it casts over me.
